About Ted
I grew up on the East Coast and still love the diversity, four seasons, small towns, big towns, beaches, rural areas, mountains and of course, the food.
As a husband and father, I’ve learned (and still learning) the importance of communication, patience, compassion, and thankfulness. Be quick to listen, and slow to speak. Words matter.
I try to apply these principles in my personal and professional relationships and do my best to treat everyone I meet with kindness and respect.
Background
I began consulting many years ago. I was working as a marketing analyst with a pretty good salary and benefits and left to become a real estate agent.
I was young and thought being self-employed would be easy. What was I thinking?!
From there, I moved on to financial services. A Monday-Friday office job where I managed 401k retirement plans.
Investing and benefits made insurance consulting a good fit for me and I’ve been loving it ever since.
Over the years, I’ve noticed many people’s challenges in managing their money and trying to stay ahead. If you’re self-employed or running a small business it’s even harder.
Although I didn’t figure it out until later in life, you don’t need millions of dollars to be financially secure or happy, but you have to protect your assets.
Insurance is a smart way to do that. Just ask Warren Buffett!
Personal
I started this blog during the pandemic. No one wanted to meet face-to-face so I began writing and it grew from there.
Turns out I liked researching and sharing information. Many of the topics here have affected me personally or through family and friends.
Like physical and mental health issues, diabetes, vision loss, sleep disorders, and the importance of preventive medicine to maintain health and well-being — and to prevent disease, disability, and death. RIP to my dad and little brother.
For Fun
Cooking, writing, and lots of sports. There’s usually ESPN, a football, basketball or baseball game on with soccer & swimming for the kiddo.
I listen to music as a form of therapy, especially jazz, 90’s, and classic rock. Oh, and I play piano and drums when no one is listening.
When there’s no time for golf, fishing, or camping I’m in the kitchen planning our next meal and testing out new recipes.
Every Friday is #pizzafriday and a shout-out to the “Guy” who invented brunch.
I’m at my best when I pray, spend time with family & friends, help others, and count my blessings.
